My name is James Crossland and I am a fully qualified MBACP Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and work within their ethical framework and guidance. I trained at City Lit College in central London and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative Pathway). During my training, I volunteered for two years with Hackney Headstrong, working with clients from a wide range of ages, cultural backgrounds, and sexual orientations. I now work with adults in private practice, both online and in-person, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working as a music producer and performing internationally within the creative industries. Experiencing the pressures of that world first-hand gave me a deeper understanding of burnout, comparison, uncertainty, and the emotional impact of constantly having to keep going. These experiences continue to inform my work with creatives, professionals, and individuals navigating high-pressure lives, where things may appear manageable on the outside while feeling very different internally.
